Why I think New Year’s Resolutions Are Overrated

New Year’s resolutions are overrated. You don’t have to take my word for it. Ask any one of the millions, perhaps billions of people around the globe who have made a resolution and failed to reach it. If they work so well, why don’t people attain their goals?

It is my belief that we have to work on ourselves all of the time, not for just a few weeks at the start of the new year. We have to stay committed to what we want to do and branch out to embrace new challenges and goals. In 2016, I have resolved to continue working on myself professionally, physically and in all other realms.

In 2015 I met Jodie and Karina who helped me improve my musical career. They lent their voices to my music, and it was one of the very best things that happened to me in 2015. We began working together in the middle of the year, not based on some phony resolution, but because we were drawn towards one another. In my opinion that is precisely how it ought to be. We have to work on ourselves all of the time to improve our situation, not just when we come up with a resolution.

Another thing that happened to me quite unexpectedly was being a part of the Parookaville Music Festival in Germany. The festival promoted my music and I am incredibly thankful for that opportunity. I look forward to more opportunities with them in 2016.

I say forget the resolutions and embrace the moment. You’ll enjoy your life much more if you do.
